What does it look like when the Celtic past speaks through the power of metal? You’ll find out on December 15 at Majestic Music Club in Bratislava, where Swiss seven‑piece folk metal icons Eluveitie will take the stage!
Since their formation in 2002, Eluveitie have mastered the rare craft of fusing the crushing force of melodic death metal with authentic instruments and Celtic mythology. Flutes, fiddles, hurdy‑gurdy, and bagpipes intertwine with heavy riffs, fierce growls, and soaring female vocals, creating an unmistakable atmosphere charged with raw emotion.
At the helm is charismatic founder and multi‑instrumentalist Chrigel Glanzmann, whose passion for Celtic culture, language, and history runs far deeper than image – it’s a core conviction. Through their lyrics, Eluveitie breathe life into forgotten tales of the Gauls, ancient deities, and lost worlds. Whether it’s the breakthrough album Slania, the dark Helvetios, or more recent releases like Ategnatos and Origins, their music is always both a sonic and spiritual journey.
Live, Eluveitie feel most like a ritual. The seven‑member lineup fills the stage not only with sound but with an energy that instantly draws the audience into their epic realm. Their concerts are far more than a showcase of virtuosity – they’re an unforgettable experience that lingers long after the last note fades.
Slovak band Achsar will join Eluveitie as support! This long-standing act from Levice is known for its dynamic blend of melodic black metal and folk metal elements, which they’ve been crafting since 2004. Their lyrics are often inspired by history, fantasy worlds, and Slovak legends, giving their music a deep and epic dimension. Their debut album Septentrionalis (2014) was a concept record set in an original fantasy universe. The band has also collaborated with the violinist from the well-known folk-metal group Korpiklaani and shared the stage with acts such as Alestorm and Elvenking.
