THE 69 EYES, D-A-D - Bratislava
26 / 01 / 2026 / BRATISLAVA / MAJESTIC
After releasing their latest and critically acclaimed studio album Speed Of Darkness—which also marked the band’s 40th anniversary last year—Danish hard rock icons D-A-D are joining forces with Finnish dark rockers THE 69 EYES for the upcoming COWPUNKS AND GLAMPIRES TOUR 2025! This co-headlining tour will hit fifteen cities, one of which is Bratislava’s Majestic Music Club!
D-A-D are among the most prominent names on the Scandinavian rock scene, and their story is proof that staying true to your sound and sense of humor can outlast fleeting trends. Formed in 1982 under the name Disneyland After Dark, the band originally balanced punk outbursts with country parody before carving out their own raw yet melodic identity—somewhere between hard rock, rock’n’roll, and a uniquely eccentric aesthetic. Their breakthrough came with the album No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims (1989), a milestone not only in their discography but in the history of Danish rock.
Though D-A-D may no longer be the “young and reckless” band they once were, they’ve lost none of their fire or their knack for writing powerful songs. Their live shows remain an explosive mix of seasoned musicianship and infectious joy. On stage, they radiate the chemistry of lifelong friends—which, in fact, they pretty much are. The current lineup has remained unchanged since the '90s, with brothers Jesper and Jacob Binzer still at the core, while bassist Stig Pedersen continues to bring out the most outlandish instruments you’ve ever seen.
THE 69 EYES are a shining example of how darkness can be stylish, elegant, and riff-heavy. The Helsinki-based goth’n’roll veterans have been active since the late '80s and early '90s, never settling for being just another band in black. Originating from the local glam rock scene, they soon embraced gothic influences, horror aesthetics, and a slower, darker sound—without losing their catchy edge or melodic drive.
With their breakthrough album Blessed Be (2000) and hits like “Gothic Girl” and “Brandon Lee,” The 69 Eyes earned international acclaim and became a cornerstone of the European gothic rock scene. Their music blends elements of The Sisters of Mercy, Type O Negative, and early HIM, all while maintaining a unique identity built on the deep vocals of charismatic frontman Jyrki 69 and a dense, cinematic sound.
